Margot B. is playing the field. The former National Miss Black Teen refuses to limit herself to one artistic style, choosing to branch out in several promising directions.

Shows at Diesel, Deja Vu, Mr. Small’s and the Station Square Hard Rock have established Margot as Pittsburgh’s top young R&B singer, earning her plenty of Beyonce and Alicia Keys comparisons along the way.

But Margot also is tapping the dance-club market with her saucy new single, “Intimacy,” while her MySpace offers a fresh hip-hop cut, “Crush,” that teams her with former Pittsburgh Steelers center Chukky Okobi, who is pursuing a rap career under the name Chuk Wun.
Herself, the daughter of a former Steeler, (1980s linebacker Craig Bingham), Margot remains accessible to an older demographic by periodically joining on-stage veteran R&B group the Boogie Hustlers.

She’s also looking to launch overseas in 2008, collaborating with German rapper Luney.
Yes, there’s rap in Germany, “and it sounds so cool,” says Margot, who also has recorded songs for producer B. Darius, formerly of the Fugees.

And perhaps her career highlight so far was earning rave reviews opening for the Black Eyed Peas in front of 60,000 people following an 84 Lumber Golf Tournament in Nemacolin.

Add it all up, and you’ve got a singer blessed with beauty, talent, experience and connections; a multi-dimensional artist who’s ready to soar to the next level.

“My goal in 2008 is to really break out and make it big,” Margot says.
